Arches and Vases

Arches and Vases

I enjoyed working with Ellen Hutson’s Essential Arches when I made these cards here. The cards were reproductions of designs that accompanied her release in 2024 in her Amazon store. For Ellen fans: she had another release this year, The Kindness Collection! Check it out here.

I decided to pair up these arched frames with some other stamp and die sets that I had been eyeing from Papertrey Ink (PI). What could fit better in an arched frame than a beautiful vase and flower arrangement?

The Vase Collections from Papertrey Ink have been on the market for a couple years now and feature over a dozen different styles of vases from Greek inspired to simple sophistication to rustic and cottage feel containers. You can find them by searching on their website under Stamps- By Category- Vase Collections. I think they are lovely and versatile for any occasion.

Here I’ve made several cards experimenting with different ink color combinations while also trying to figure out good ways to stamp up the vases for an authentic look. Here are just a few from the crafting session working with Vase Collection 17 which came with vase, vase detail, and flower arrangement stamps. The die was purchased separately.

I also added die cut flowers from other sets (Altenew’s Beautiful Day and Charming Doodles and PI’s Into the Blooms: Christmas Sprigs) to Vase Collection 1, as this very affordable set came with the vase and detail stamps only. The die was purchased separately. An excellent purchase for the price point of both the die and stamps together (under $30 at the high end, down to $15, depending on vase). There is quite a selection of styles to choose from.

The set that I couldn’t be without!

I think these stamps and dies will be much used and loved in my crafting sessions for making everyday blank cards to sympathy, birthday and parent’s day! These days stamp and die sets seem to have so much going on and range from $40- $65. Too much money, too complicated?

I really like the orange flowers with grey vase and the pink against the deep orange vase with white pigment stamped detail. I used Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink for a highlighted look.

A vase is so simple. It can accommodate any frame, layering or technique that you choose!

Check them out before they are gone!

[…] With such stellar inspiration I knew I could find elements hiding away in my craft bins that I could use to get a similar look. At first look, I loved the bright yellow foliage and springtime colors. They used patterned paper for the backgrounds. One has a decorative scalloped edge. They all use a vase stamp and die from Papertrey Ink’s Vase Collection which I have featured before here. […]
