Masculine Winter Birthday

Masculine, I guess, can mean less flowers.

Masculine can mean less pinks and more greens, blues, yellows.

Masculine doesn’t have to mean beer, sailboats, fishing, golf clubs, rockets, trucks or antlers.

For a simple birthday card I started with a background stamp. I decided on a focus piece or frame (the tag) and then added a ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment to fit.

Embellishments included just a few added strips of black card stock to blend with the plaid background. I added one black jewel to the notecard tag die.

Couldn’t help myself with the florals and felt like a few springs cut from the holly die would work nicely to add balance.

Background colors featured here are Concord & 9th’s Midnight and Rainforest. The note tag dies were cut from a simple faux textured patterned paper from Hobby Lobby. Sentiments stamped with black Versafine ink.

The holly die was cut from Neenah Desert Storm 80lb. card stock. I cut the original holly sprig into pieces to maneuver under the note tag. The berries were cut from red glitter paper and applied with fine tip applicator with Gina K Connect Glue.

Because the cards will be mailed I opted to use a piece of card stock glued behind the tags to add the slightest dimension. I tucked under the sprigs with tiny bit of glue then cut a much smaller piece of card stock to fit and balance out the raised note tag. You could use foam but I found this to offer a much lower profile.
